Rylee Lydon Champion Women's 17-18 Heptathlon - USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships 2023

Rylee Lydon, a recent graduate of Prairie Ridge High in Illinois and a Texas A&M signee representing TNT Track and Field Academy, secured back-to-back women's 17-18 division heptathlon titles with a lifetime-best 5,208 points at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Lydon won the 800 meters in 2:17.85, along with the high jump at 5-8.75 (1.75m), in addition to achieving a 35-3.25 (10.75m) shot put, an 18-0.25 (5.49m) long jump and 24.99 performance in the 200 meters to improve on her previous-best effort of 5,152 points June 16-17 at Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field. Lydon, who won last year's 17-18 heptathlon title with 4,677 points at Sacramento State, became the 33rd female athlete in U.S. prep history to surpass the 5,200-point barrier. More videos |
